What is hypnosis like?

Is Hypnosis Safe?

In any circumstances, you wouldn’t say or do anything that you wouldn’t normally say or do during a hypnosis session.

Your unconscious mind is a highly moral being. Since you are working with your unconscious mind during a hypnosis session, you wouldn’t say or do anything that goes against your morals. The morals that you were taught and accepted while growing up.
When your hypnotherapist is in complete rapport with you,  your unconscious mind opens itself to receive information directly and uncritically from him/her. Even better, if your hypnotherapist is trained in NLP, the suggestions are going to be designed linguistically to have the most positive effect on you.

You will feel safe and protected during your hypnosis session. During your trance state, you are in complete control, and you are able to stop following directions at any time.

Can I be hypnotized?

This question is probably the most important one that crosses your mind. Or, you might also ask: What does it feel like to be hypnotized? How does it feel to be in a trance?

There is no satisfactory answer to these questions since we are all unique observers of our events. We all experience hypnosis -trance- in a very different way. For a first-timer, it is surprising to find that hypnosis and being in a trance feel completely normal and natural also, that they feel in control at all times.

During a hypnosis session, you will be in complete control at all times. You might wonder how is this relaxing event -being in trance- is different than not being in trance? And it is a good thing to wonder… You will feel relaxed.

As a hypnotherapist, I regularly guide my clients in different levels of trances. It is completely safe, and I utilize light to medium to deep trances to achieve results with my clients. How deep you will go in a trance depends on your own abilities. The more you practice going into a trance, the deeper you can go. Time distortion is very common during sessions; while in a trance, time passes a lot faster.

Hypnosis for certain results

What is the ultimate outcome for you to be hypnotized? Trying to stop worrying or making decisions that are not beneficial for you? That is your outcome to measure. You are going to seek out a hypnotherapist for one reason: to have your problem disappear.

It will always be an option for you to choose the old behavior pattern. The process of hypnosis will increase choice. Good old measuring. Did it work? Can you do the problem now? Do you want to choose the problem now?

Hypnosis In the Hypnotherapist Office

For you to be hypnotized, you must be intelligent enough to follow directions. For you to ‘close your eyes and relax your muscles around your eyes so that they are so relaxed you cannot open them, no matter how hard you try’… is a suggestion. Who has to close your eyes? Can you not close them if you want to? Of course. Stare right at the hypnotherapist with wide-open eyes, and you will prove that you are not able to follow simple directions. You can as well say, ‘I cannot be hypnotized because I choose not to follow your directions.’ Great. You missed the point.

The point is that you and your hypnotherapist want the same exact thing: your problem to disappear. The sooner you realize that when you follow directions, the better you are going into a trance. When you are in a trance, you bypass your critical faculty.

Critical faculty is a part of you differentiating between reality and fantasy. My suggestions are going into your unconscious mind to create the results that you want for yourself. It is both of our responsibilities to achieve your result.

Your mind does not know the difference between real and imagined. An EEG machine will show the same brain waves for seeing an apple and imagining an apple. Therefore, when you make changes on the unconscious level for a positive outcome, your mind will think it is real. This is why hypnosis works so well in conjunction with your conscious efforts.

It pays off to get your unconscious mind on board with your consciously planned changes. Hypnosis is a remarkable tool.

Does Hypnosis Work?

Whether hypnosis alone works or not depends on the individual. I use NLP and ChronoPath Therapy™ first and use hypnosis last to seal the results. NLP will loosen the grip around the problem, and ChronoPath Therapy™ will successfully remove all negative emotions and limiting beliefs. Hypnosis truly makes these mind-body works sustainable.

It will remove negative emotions and limiting beliefs from the past attached to the problem. While hypnosis will make sure that the message sticks.

Can you choose to do the problem after our session? But of course. The question is: do you want to?
